Studies are clear: overexposure to screens is linked to sleep disorders, vision problems, attention difficulties, and sedentary behaviors. In 2018, 29% of high school students slept less than 7 hours a night, according to the EnCLASS survey (EHESP). The Esteban study (Santé publique France, 2017) found that 17% of children aged 6–17 were overweight, including 4% obese. The French Society of Ophthalmology (2022) reported nearly 24% myopia among children. And yet, at the same time, the French school system has become heavily digitized: ENT platforms, Pronote, online homework, digital assessments. A paradox: we warn against screens while making them unavoidable in education.
